Recall on Ford F-150 & Super Duty Trucks

Ford recently issued a recall on roughly 80,000 of its F-150 and Super Duty pickup trucks. This recall impacts 79,017 trucks in the U.S., 6,986 trucks in Canada, and 1,347 trucks in Mexico.

The recall revolves around issues with the windshield; it may not be bonded to the vehicle structure in the right way, putting drivers and passengers at risk of becoming injured.

The windshield is especially at risk of causing damage if the truck gets into an accident. The windshield may not stay in place on impact.

As of now, Ford is not aware of any injuries or accidents related to this particular problem. The automaker is planning on issuing notices to drivers in early April of 2021.

Vehicles Recalled

Owners of the following vehicles should be aware of this recall:

  • 2021 Ford F-150 vehicles built specifically at the Dearborn Truck Plant between October 27th, 2020 to February 3rd, 2021.
  • 2020-2021 Ford Super Duty vehicles that were built at the Kentucky Truck Plan between October 13th, 2020 through January 23, 2021.

Ford dealerships will remove the windshield and reattach it the proper way.
