U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Issues Recalls for Many Manufactures, Including a Mercedes-Benz “Do Not Drive” Recall

A recall has been issued for almost 300,000 Mercedes-Benz ML-Class, GL-Class and R-Class vehicles built between 2006-2012, recommending owners have their vehicles towed to the nearest Mercedes dealership due to problems with the a potential accumulation of moisture and corrosion in the brake booster housing unit, which can negatively effect brake performance and potentially cause a failure.

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Dodge Durango, Jeep Grand Cherokee WK, 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee and 2021-2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles equipped with 3.6L engines. The exhaust gas recirculation valve may stick open, which can lead to an unexpected loss of drive power.

Hyundai Motor America is recalling over 200,000 2013-2014 Sonata vehicles. The low pressure fuel hose that connects the low pressure fuel pump to the direct injection fuel pump may crack over time, due to heat generated within the engine compartment.

Tesla, Inc. is recalling over 100,000 2021-2022 Model S, Model X, and 2022 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles operating certain firmware releases. The infotainment central processing unit (CPU) may overheat during the preparation or process of fast-charging, causing the CPU to lag or restart.

Nissan North America, Inc. is recalling certain 2022 Rogue vehicles. Due to a manufacturing error, an area on the bottom wall of the fuel tank may be too thin.

Toyota is recalling almost 20,000 2022 Tundra trucks equipped with a Panoramic View Monitor system. The software may prevent transmission of the rearview camera signal during cold weather, preventing the rearview image from displaying. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, “Rear Visibility.”

Volvo Car USA, LLC is recalling certain 2021-2022 XC40 BEV vehicles. Water may enter the cable harness, corroding the accelerator pedal sensor circuit.
