Volkswagen Touareg And Porsche Cayennes Being Recalled For Brake Problem

135,000 VW Touaregs and -Porsche Cayennes, model years 2011-2016, are being recalled because some of the vehicles may have defective brakes that may drastically affect drivers’ ability to slow their vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has announced. According to the NHTSA, the issue involves the brake pedal pivot pin, which may be missing a certain piece, allowing the pivot pin to move and the brake pedal to dislodge. If the brake pedal dislodges, the driver may not be able to apply the brakes, increasing the risk of a crash.

The recall affects 88,300 Porsche Cayenne vehicles built between April 28, 2010 and January 11, 2016. An additional 46,700 VW Touaregs are also included.
