Nissan Recalling Over 930,000 Altimas Due To Hood Latch Problem

Nissan North America will be recalling approximately 930,000 Altimas worldwide to fix a hood latch issue that could cause the hood to open while driving.  The paint on the latch could flake off exposing the bare metal of the hood latch to the elements.  Over time, the metal may rust and cause the secondary safety latch to stay open, which increases the chance the hood may open while the vehicle is moving.

The recall affects Altimas model years from 2013 to 2015.  Nissan says they will notify customers and replace the latches for free starting in mid-February.
