Chrysler Pacifica Park Release Plug Recall

Recently, Chrysler found that there was an issue with their Chrysler Pacifica minivan models. An estimated 240,242 vehicles are being recalled from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, specifically 2017 to 2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivans. The manual park release plug is able to be removed without a tool, causing it to be insecure. If the park release was engaged, the vehicle could potentially roll away, meaning that pedestrians and other vehicles are at risk.

To solve this issue, Chrysler will begin notifying owners on August 3, 2018. If you are not notified, but you believe that your vehicle may be affected, you can contact one of your local Chrysler dealerships. They will be able to check on any recalls on your vehicle, but be ready to give the VIN number, and the recall number, which is U50.

Dealers ought to be able to replace the MPR plug for free in order to resolve the issue. Recall repairs on your 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica minivan must be done at a Chrysler Dealership.
