As of April, Acura is recalling 323,000 vehicles because the brake lights can short out, meaning the vehicle will be harder to see at night, heightening the risk of a crash. According to Acura, seals around the rear liftgate light of 2014-2019 MDX SUV models may fail.
Why Is This Important?
In addition to the brake lights not working, water may leak into the structures that house the lights, reaching some electrical components. When the electrical components come in contact with water, it can lead to a failure of the tailgate lights.
What Should You Know?
There was a statement released in which Acura said they were not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the issue. However, the company will still notify owners of affected vehicles.

Head over to your dealer so you can get replacements on your seals and light assembly, as well as the wiring harness. Owners will be able to receive this repair at no charge.
