Celebrating 30 Years of Consumer Protection at Krohn & Moss, Ltd. Consumer Law Center®

For three decades, Krohn & Moss, Ltd. Consumer Law Center® has been standing up for consumers’ rights and holding corporations accountable. Founded in 1995, our firm helped bring lemon law into the mainstream and has since resolved over 60,000 cases nationwide. As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we reflect on our journey, our values, and our ongoing mission to protect consumers across the country.

How It All Began

When we founded Krohn & Moss, Ltd. Consumer Law Center® in November 1995, lemon law was far from a household term. Nationwide, only a handful of firms were taking defective vehicle cases. Far too often, families were stuck with unreliable cars and no clear path to relief.

Our founding attorneys, Adam J. Krohn and Gregory H. Moss, saw the gap and stepped in to fill it. We began our practice in Illinois, representing consumers who were sold defective vehicles, or “lemons.” And from the beginning, our mission was clear: help the “little guy” get what they paid for.

Word spread quickly. Clients across Illinois sought our help. And before long, we expanded our practice throughout the Midwest. Before long, Krohn & Moss, Ltd. grew into a nationwide leader in consumer law. And we’ve continued to earn consumers’ trust by defending their rights against every automobile manufacturer.

Expanding Beyond Lemon Law

In the early years, our focus was primarily on lemon law and breach of warranty cases. But over the next three decades, our firm broadened its scope to address a wide range of consumer issues. While our firm predominantly focuses on lemon law, breach of warranty, and consumer fraud matters today, over the years, we also helped tens of thousands of additional clients overcome illegal consumer debt collection matters, illegal robocalls, and illegal fair reporting matters.

We have an undefeated (7-0) record before the state supreme courts in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Florida, and we have won countless other intermediate-level appellate decisions across the nation.
