Engine Stalling Leads to Hyundai Veloster Recall

Faulty software can lead to engine damage, causing Hyundai to recall 16,487 of its 2013 Veloster hatchbacks.


Why Is This Important?

The faulty software that leads to a car’s engine operating incorrectly is dangerous. Engine damage can cause a car to stall or lead to a fire.


What Should You Know?

The cars built between April 26, 2012 through October 16, 2013 are being recalled and dealers will update the software at no charge to the owners. Since May 13, 2019, Hyundai has begun to notify the affected owners of this issue.


What To Do

If your car has been affected, head to your Hyundai dealer today. If you are unsure about the make and model of your car, contact Hyundai customer service as 855-371-9460. The automaker’s number for this recall is 182, and the NHTSA campaign number is 19V204.
