Roughly 9,000 Audis are being recalled from the 2013-2016 A8 and S8 sedans. There’s a fuel line that may become porous over time, leading to a potential fuel leak.

Why is This Important?

A leak that forms near an ignition source can create a fire risk.

What to Know

There’s a fuel line that could become penetrable over time in certain Audi A8 and S8 sedans that were manufactured starting in June 2012 through July 2015. The porous fuel line defect originates from the fuel system. This type of leak can cause a fire.

What to Do

If your car has been affected, Audi dealers will install a device that regulates fuel flow. This is free of charge to the car owners. Audi has begun contacting owners of specific sedans. If you are unsure about the make and model of your car, contact your Audi dealer. You can contact Audi directly at 800-253-2834. This recall number is 20BM.

In addition to calling Audi, you can also head to NHTSA’s website that will let you know whether your vehicle has any open recalls. By inputting your car’s 17-digit VIN number in NHTSA’s site, you can find out if your vehicle may be affected by the recall.

You can check NHTSA’s site regularly to see if your vehicle has had a recall issued.
