Toyota Recalls Nearly 1 Million Vehicles in the U.S.

Currently, there are two major Toyota recalls.

Toyota has recalled roughly 2.4 million vehicles worldwide due to cars potentially not entering a fail-safe driving mode that they are supposed to. This causes vehicles to lose power and stall; this can be especially dangerous when driving at higher speeds, as it can cause a crash. This recall involves 2010-2014 Toyota Prius and 2012-2014 Prius v vehicles. There are approximately 807,000 affected U.S. vehicles from this recall.

The second recall involves certain 2018-2019 Tundra and Sequoia vehicles as well as 2019 Avalon vehicles. The recall is due to a programming problem in the airbag electronic control unit (ECU) that may disable one or more sensors that are necessary to detect crashes. This could cause side and curtain shield airbags and/or front and knee airbags to deploy as they should.
